Successful women!

Profile of Success : : : Barbara Linn

Occupation:

Jazz Vocalist, Teacher, Voice Talent

My Inspiration: I am motivated to perform and teach by the belief that people have an innate ability to express themselves through music. Legendary jazz figures such as Betty Carter, Thelonius Monk, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, provide musical inspiration and a standard of excellence to aspire to.

Greatest career success: In 1998 I released "Smooth Road", my debut CD as a jazz singer, on the B there Music label. "Smooth Road" is played on jazz radio, reviewed in jazz magazines and I've sold it to folks from San Francisco, California to Prague in the Czech Republic.

My favorite pair of Harry Mason Earspirals: gold spirals with Cubic Zirconia drops (they look like a question mark or an inverted treble clef) (SPQCZ GF)

How I make a difference in the world: How I make a difference in the world: As a teacher, I work with people as they discover their voice as a means for self expression and fun! As a performer I try to let my ideas flow without censoring them. Audiences say that they feel included - as if I'm singing to them personally.

My greatest personal achievement: In 1993 I had to leave my job, disabled, a work injury. Though I often felt discouraged about my prospects, I followed my desire to have a full time career in music... and I made it! I give thanks for the support I received along the way.
