It isn’t often that I see this level of customer service from a retailer, so I wanted to share a quick story with you.

While on vacation earlier this month, I lost one earring from my favorite pair, which I probably purchased 10 years ago from Harry Mason Designer Jewelry in San Francisco. In an effort to try to get another one made to match the sole earring, I contacted the company and asked if they could duplicate it. I also noticed that they were still selling the same pair of earrings on their website, so I figured that there was a good chance that I would have a set, one way or another.

Harry Mason responded to my call (and email) immediately. Moreover, they said because they guaranteed that the earring (“ear spiral”) would never fall out of my ear and it did (still can’t figure out how, though!), they would send me another earring for FREE (the pair was $100). All I needed to do was send the remaining ear spiral to them and pay the postage, and they would send a matched pair back to me. Much to my delight, the ear spirals arrived today (via regular postage), which was only five days from when I mailed the one ear spiral. That means they must have sent a brand new pair before they even received my package!
