Who wears Harry Mason Designer Jewelry?

Successful women!

Profile of Success : : : Terry Slay

Occupation:

Executive Assistant working with a Senior Vice President at Sargent & Lundy LLC

My Inspiration: My Inspiration comes from my mother, who had an early age suffered the war with cancer. She never let her spirit ebb. Her drive to lead her family with warmth, humor and love was her strength and transferred to us. She lost the war to cancer, dying at the early age of 52 but her efforts to inspire, to live by example, left me with my attitude now - live the day, look at world around you - it's yours for the taking. Savor and enjoy it!

Greatest career success: My greatest career success? I am an Executive Assistant working with a Senior Vice President at Sargent & Lundy LLC, a worldwide leader in professional services for the electric power industry and is located in Chicago, Illinois. The responsibility, flexibility, challenges, and the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects enabled me to grow professionally. More specifically, I am now developing and conducting training presentations to the Administrative Division in our company. This has expanded my professional expertise to include presentations and speaking to a large group of individuals.

My favorite pair of Harry Mason Earspirals: Almost impossible to answer as they are all my favorites. When I am in a quiet, seductive mood, I select my dangle with pearls. When I'm in a fun mood, kicking back and ready for some excitement, then my dangle with design plus add the coordinating earwrap. What fun and compliments to boot! Counting how many I have I'd just have to say numerous. Just soooo many. I have a separate jewelry box for just my HM's. And then, I have to guard them - my daughter frequently borrows them, although she has some of her own.

How I make a difference in the world and My greatest personal achievement: If I had to say how I made a difference in the world it would be by my choosing the husband I did, by being blessed with the best children in the world and instilling in them the love of family. This too, is my greatest personal achievement. We are awaiting our first grandchild, expected around 9/10/01. My entire family is so excited with the new life about to be joining our family. We are truly blessed, with life, family and friends.

What is the most important thing that made it work? Perseverance - we believe a relationship is a 60/40 arrangement. That extra effort has more rewards than one can imagine. We keep warmth, excitement and love in our daily relationship and believe open communication eliminates barriers. We do have our differences. Boy do we! But we work them out together. It'd be quite unusual not to have any conflicts. We resolved not going to bed mad at each other. We still kiss and say good night and in the morning when we part we say goodbye with a hug and kiss. We try to live each day as if it were the last one we have together.

I thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts on my 30 years of marriage. I never expected that when I walked into a Harry Mason store many years ago, that the warmth and sincerity felt back then still exists now. I will be returning to your store this November, again seeing the "friends" I met so long ago. Thank you for what your store is, what they stand for, and being a part of my 30th Wedding Anniversary trip! You are special to us too!
